Maybe you have read about money management on other site, maybe you have your own money management system, but I would like to share with you my system.
First of all I am a risk taker, but not at high risk. I believed no pain no gain. If you want to win big then you have to take the risk, but be smart - always aim for high return with low risk.
Let's say you have $1000 as your initial bank roll. So how do you place your bet based on this $1000? Are you going to bet $1000 on 1 match and get 50-50 chance? Or bet $10 per match and get few dollars return? What I will do is to split it into 10 bets, $100 each and $200 for a higher confident bet. So you have minimum 10 bets before you go zero.
I came across many punters who wish to get rich quick. They will go for $300 or $500 per bet with $1000 bank roll. Intead of get rich quick, they get poor quick. No doubt that the return is attractive but the risk is so high that they couldn't afford it. Go slow and steady.
So when you have accumulated double of your initial bank roll, you gain more confident. It is time to increase your bet stake to $150 or $200. Do not increase it more than double or you will lost control. This is a common psychology effect that will affect your judgement. Try it if you don't believe me.
What if you left with 1/2 of your bank roll? Be cool, cut down the bet stake 50%, and do your homework. Try to win back your money and most important is your confident. A person that lost confident will lost his judgement too.
